  • Polyurethane Film
    • Manufactured from a polyurethane film that is 0.15mm thick, the adhesive brings the total thickness to 0.2mm. It doesn't sound like much, but with it's highly elastic nature the film is able to absorb and deflect most impacts.

    • It’s manufactured in widths up to 1520mm, so we can cover full bonnets and guards for most vehicles
    • We use a computer plotter to cut the film to a pattern, this ensures an exact fit and smooth edge
    • We have an extensive library of patterns for modern vehicles
    • We can make our own patterns for vehicles not serviced by the library.
    • The film is highly elastic and can be applied to compound curves to provide protection in the most difficult places
    • It’s UV stable, so it will not yellow, bubble, or crack
    • It protects your vehicle 24/7 and never needs to be removed for cleaning or maintenance
    • Once installed, it cannot trap dust or moisture between the film and paint
    • It cannot abrade the paint or promote corrosion
    • Elite SH has a memory- it will return to the form it was originally in so any scratches or fine marks will disappear.

PRODUCT HISTORY

  • Paint Protection Film

    • Paint Protection Film or PPF was developed from a film used in the Middle East Conflict ‘Desert Storm’ to protect helicopter blades and propellers against abrasion from the desert sands.

  • Original film

    • This Helicopter tape was either black or clear and turned yellow with age. This didn’t matter as long as it did its job. 

  • Early Versions of PPF

    • Early versions of PPF for cars were initially clear but yellowed quickly. The surface was quite dull and trapped dirt in the pores of the film, creating a grey tint.

  • 2013

    • After using several brands of PPF over the years we settled on Premiumshield Elite as it has an optical clarity so close to 100% it is as clear as glass.

  • 2019

    • In 2019, Invisible Car Bras changed to installing Premium Shield Elite SH (self healing). Elite SH has an outstanding memory allowing it to recover from scratches without the need to pour hot water or apply heat to the film. With a clarity and smothness like glass, the resultant finish is even more spectacular.
